Cheatsheet: SEO for Beauty Bloggers
If you’re a beauty blogger, congratulations! It’s an endeavour that requires a lot of time and above all, passion. It might feel at times that your space is already oversaturated with everyone wanting to have their own beauty or fashion blog these days, but don’t despair, because with some good SEO you can start leading the pack.
Many bloggers have dreams of being able to monetize their blog, but in order to get there, first you need a good amount of traffic. Good SEO plays an important in this.
Besides the tips in your cheatsheet, keep in mind that posting regularly (at least weekly) and working to author guest posts on other sites as well as inviting other bloggers to guest post on yours (so you’re both promoting visits to your blog) is a good strategy.
Additionally, the images you pick for your blog should have alt-tags and on and social media you should all have a unifying colour scheme (check out Ulta’s Instagram feed to see what this means. All their photos are neutral colours with a pinkish tinge, it makes their feed look unified and recognisable).
To see an example of a good title for a blog post, check out this posts by beauty blogger Musings of a Muse. See how she includes many keywords and always mentions if it’s a “review” and/or “swatches”? Can you see how her URL is very clean and matches her post title?
