2017, the year of Product at marketgoo

2017 is almost gone at marketgoo and what a ride it has been! Last year I made some bets for 2017 that we have mostly fulfilled: New product with improved UX, new partnerships and profit growth.

We measure our success not only by economic means. Our MRR kept growing but slowed down a bit, while our Product and Wisdom growth is at its maximum reach. When managing a company, there is no ‘balance sheet’ type of registry that allows you to measure wisdom growth, but we know we’ve been growing in that regard because the team is in sync, the methodology flows as fast as ever, the sprints fly and we kept our focus sharp despite my CEO anxieties ?

  • We’ve dedicated mostly the entire year to improve and consolidate our product offering. Roughly 2/3 of our resources were allocated to the new version of our platform, along with several improvements that our Product team usually updates on this blog. Our focus on customer success is huge – we updated our flow, enhance dour backend, implemented new features such as Google Analytics integration, improve our UX, WordPress plugin, emails and communications, etc.  We have spent so much time on our Core Product Value because we understood that in order to have our users experience that value quickly and as often as possible, we had to place all our bets on improving and iterating the best ways to deliver it.
  • We kept working with the best partners worldwide and spent the end of the year onboarding two huge partners we are ecstatic to launch with at the beginning of 2018. This is going to be massive for us and likely expect to double our size within a year.
  • Our team is more ready than ever. We keep improving our Culture and our two company retreats have been phenomenal. One in Galicia, north of Spain and the other in Valencia.

In 2018 our bets are clear: we’ll keep improving our product with an intense focus on customer development, we’ll launch our WordPress actionable plugin and new partner developments will bring us a lot of challenges and success no doubt!

The best of all is that we are helping a wider number of small projects and businesses. That is our drive and we love to see these companies optimizing their online presence and getting more traffic that enables their success. We know our why and we’ll keep pushing on that.
